The Shilo Inn is on Old Mammoth Road, a couple of minutes walk to the restaurants & bars in the old downtown area. Free shuttles are also available to get around town and to the mountain.
How many people per room?
We only put 2 people to a hotel room. Each room has 2 queen beds (no bunk beds!), a flat screen TV, microwave & refrigerator. Couples can request a King bed.
How do you get to Mammoth?
We travel to/from Mammoth on a private luxury coach bus. Snacks and beverages will be provided. PG and R rated films will be shown. So you can sit back, relax and watch a movie or take a nap!
Where does the bus pick up?
Location #1: Bus depart Thursday at 5:30 sharp from the NG parking lot in Redondo Beach. When you get there, grab a seat on the bus and check with the trip leader. We do keep the same bus seats for the entire trip.
Location #2: Our bus will also make a stop at the Golden Valley Park & Ride off Hwy 14 as we pass by (usually around 6:30ish). Make sure you tell us we are picking you up there – so we can save you a bus seat & we will call you from the road to give you an estimate of what time we’ll get there.
Does the bus make a dinner stop on the way up?
No the bus will not make any stops. There is a restroom on the bus and you can bring non-messy food items on the bus.
Does it stop for dinner on the way home?
Individually made to order sandwiches for everyone will be provided on the way home – included in the price!

We usually arrive back in Redondo Beach on Sunday night around 10:30/11:00 pm, depending on weather, road conditions and traffic.
How do I get to the Mountain each morning?
Our private bus will take us to and from the Main Lodge each day.
What if I want to go to/from the mountain at a different time?
There is a free ‘Red Line’ town shuttle that runs up from town to the Main Lodge every 15 or 20 minutes. Ask the trip leader for a route map.
Is there a group dinner?
We have a potluck & pizza dinner one night in the hotel’s conference room. Which night (Fri or Sat) will be decided by the trip leader.
Are Lift Tickets included in the price?
Lift tickets are not included. You can buy at the mountain or on Mammoth’s website. You will get a discount if you purchase a multiple day lift ticket. Last year, discounted lift tickets were available at Costco.
Is there anyway to save even more money on this trip?
While we already offer the best hotel/bus deal in town, if you and a couple of friends all want to room together, and have a total of 3 (or max of 4) people in your hotel room, we will pass the hotel savings onto you. You have to come to us with your assembled group of people to arrange this. We will not assign people to share 3 or 4 people to a room.
What’s a CST?
When a tour operator has a CST # it means they are a legitimate state licensed “California Seller or Travel’ Member, which is required for all in state trips over $299, plus any priced ‘out of state’ trips. Thus, they have proper legal status, file taxes, and participate in the State of California’s Travel Consumer Restitution Corporation.
Is Beach Cities Ski Club a licensed CST?
Yes! BCSC CST # is 2084767-40
How do I sign up?
Easy! Just download the BCSC Mammoth Trip signup form, fill out & follow the instructions on the form of where to mail your check & form!
How do I know you got my check and I am on the trip?
Just go to the BCSC website and click on the trip date. We will list all those trip participants who are on the trip and who are on the waitlist.
Any other advice?
Make sure you bring a change of clothes for the bus ride home. Sunday morning, we will load all luggage under the bus, where it will remain locked up until we arrive at your parking lot and so you will not have access to your luggage. So bring a small bag and a change of clothes to keep on your seat so that you can change out of your ski clothes prior to the ride home.
